• Problem solving techniques
o Trial and error
• Often frustrating and unsuccessful
• Three Step Approach
o Step 1: Analyze
• Where you are starting, where you are going, and how to get there
• Could be helpful to break the problem smaller steps or draw a diagram
o Step 2: Calculate
• With good planning, calculations should be straightforward
o Step 3: Evaluate
• Does your answer make sense
• Check your work

4.2 Simple Conversion Problems

• Conversion Factors
o Useful to convert from one unit to another
• Dimensional Analysis
o Method for solving problems with units

4.3 More Complex Problems

• Multi step problems
o Using multiple conversion factors
